I was fascinated by the beauty of butterflies as a young boy and began collecting them at a very early age. The life span of a butterfly is quite short and many are lost to a brief but fatal encounter with vehicles on our roadways. I amassed a large store of them by picking them up from certain roadways I knew to be productive. I protected then in canisters with moth balls. It was later in life that I began to seek ways to display them. Some specimens I put into glass domed arrangements. Later still I decided to place the wings in the shape of a butterfly making certain each wing was an exact as possible mirror of the opposite wing. More recently I have acquired wings from reputable sources and continue to explore means of displaying these beautiful feats of nature. These pieces are the result.

Butterfly wing art creations : This is an imaginary butterfly. It is made with authentic butterfly or moth wings. It is beautifully unique. Gage the size of the art by the size of the frame. Very unique piece the primary species is the Red Spotted Purple. This was my most desirable butterfly in my younger days. They were impossible to catch because they were always up in the trees. I acquired these later in life. They had been hit by cars. Other types here are the Spice Bush Swallowtail and the Pipe Vine Swallowtail. All hit by cars. Great piece.
